Travel Agency Program
Registration, financial security, and compliance requirements for travel agencies and sellers of travel in Hawaiʻi to protect consumers and ensure industry accountability
Important Update!
All licenses must be renewed by December 31, 2023. See information below on renewing online. Hard-copy renewals may be requested by contacting the Licensing Branch at (808) 586-3000 or by emailing travel@dcca.hawaii.gov.
If your license was previously approved for a waiver of the client trust account requirement, do NOT answer “yes” or check the box for the first three attestations regarding the client trust account. Instead, you must submit a HARD COPY renewal with a signed letter that confirms the travel agency still:
- Is not physically located in Hawaii;
- Does not accept cash or check payments from its consumers to conduct its travel services/business;
- All consumer payments for travel services arranged by the travel agency will only be made by electronic payment methods, such as credit charge or debit card; and
- All payments received will be made directly to the travel providers/facilitator.
You may answer “yes” or check the box for the last attestation, “I am in compliance with all the provisions of Chapter 468L, HRS, regarding the client trust account” as applicable.
