The Board licenses Certified Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors & Landscape Architects, administers exams, enforces standards, renews licenses, and conducts disciplinary actions ensuring ethical accounting practices
IMPORTANT: All engineer, architect, surveyor, and landscape architect (“EASLA”) licenses must be renewed by April 30, 2026. See information below on renewing online. Hard-copy renewals may be requested by contacting the Licensing Branch at (808) 586-3000 or by emailing EASLA@dcca.hawaii.gov.
- Architect licensees only must attest to completing 16 CEs in HSW subjects between May 1, 2024 and April 30, 2026.
- Renewal FAQs
- There is no option to “retire” or “inactive status” your EASLA license. You may simply let your license lapse past the renewal deadline and your license will be considered “forfeit” in our system. If you wish to have your license back in the future, you must re-apply as a “new applicant” and meet all current requirements. If approved, you will get back your original license number. You may not practice in Hawaii unless you have a current, valid license.
